Description
The Webbe Youth Association (also known as the Webbe Club and the Webbe Institute) was a boys' club founded in 1888 by H. B. Webbe, a cricketer and graduate of New College, Oxford. The club was originally based at 457 Bethnal Green Road, before moving to Hare Street (now Cheshire Street) in 1889, where it had more than 400 members by 1890. Oxford House hosted Club activities later on.
The Club ran many activities including boxing, carpentry, dramatics, painting, cricket and draughts. This annual report gives an insight into club activities for the year 1959-1960.
