Description
Oxford House was involved in the establishment of another settlement house, St. Margaret's in Bethnal Green. St. Margaret's House was created as a 'ladies' branch' of Oxford House, as originally only men were permitted as residents at Oxford House. The first women residents joined Oxford House in the late 1930s.
